چکیده
Background: Sacrococcygeal pilonidal sinus is a common condition usually affecting young-to-middle-aged men. For managing sacrococcygeal illness, variety of lateralizing surgical flap procedures based on this principle have been published, including the Karydakis flap, Limberg modified Z-plasty, and Y-V advancement flap. Aim: To compare outcome simple excision with primary closure versus rhomboid limberg for sinus. Methodology: Randomized control study conducted in Surgery Department, Ghurki Trust Hospital, Lahore. 90 patients fulfilling inclusion criteria were selected from wards randomly divided two equal groups. In group A, underwent B, closure. The operation was performed under spinal anesthesia. After surgery, evaluated every 24 hours if they are able to move their own then discharged hospital stay noted. Then after 10 days, will be called OPD assessment wound healing. If did heal patient complained pain (VAS>4) cannot sit fever (temp>100oF) Results: average age A 44.37±15.42 years while that B 45.24±14.50 years. there 23(51.1%) males 22 (48.9%) females whereas 25(55.6%) 20(44.4%) females. There difference significant mean both groups (p-value=0.002). Conclusion: conclusion study, disease Limberg's an effective treatment. Background: Pilonidal sinus is a disease of young adults having single or multiple blind tracks lined by granulation tissue containing tuft of shed hair. Natal cleft is the commonest site; rarely involves umbilicus, axilla and inter-digital cleft. It has various methods of its treatment. The modalities of treatment vary from conservative medical management to complex surgical procedures. Aim:To...
متن کاملComparative Study between Primary Simple Closure and Limberg Flap Technique in Pilonidal Sinus Disease
Pilonidal sinus disease (PSD) is a common chronic, benign disease of young adulthood. Pilonidal disease is an infection under the skin in the gluteal cleft. Pilonidal literally means a „„nest of hair”. Known risk factors include family history, local trauma, sedentary occupation, and obesity. Pilonidal sinus disease is a blind track, which extends from the skin of natal cleft up to the presacra...
متن کاملS-Shaped Wide Excision with Primary Closure for Extensive Chronic Pilonidal Sinus Disease
Background. The management of complex pilonidal sinus disease (PSD) with multiple pits on and beside the natal cleft is variable, contentious, and problematic. Wide excision of the sinus and reconstruction of the defect using different flap techniques have become more popular in recent years. Case Report. We report a case with a complex chronic PSD to which we applied primary closure after S-sh...
متن کاملSinotomy technique versus surgical excision with primary closure technique in pilonidal sinus disease.
Pilonidal disease is a common chronic disorder mainly seen in the sacrococcygeal region, especially in young males. Many surgical treatment modalities have been suggested, but an ideal and widely accepted treatment has yet to be established. The aim of this study was to compare quality of life of patients treated with the sinotomy technique with quality of life of patients treated with surgical...
